Fund Development

Lyn Balistreri Lyn Balistreri, Director of Fund Development
Lyn Balistreri joined the staff at Morrissey-Compton Educational Center in February, 2014 after serving on its Fund Development Committee for two years. Immediately prior, she spent eight years as Fund Development Coordinator at Avenidas, a nonprofit that provides services to older adults on the Mid-Peninsula. Her duties at Avenidas included donor cultivation, planning and executing fundraising events, helping create and manage direct mail campaigns, and drafting/designing marketing collateral, including the Agency's monthly newsletter. Lyn's career path has taken many turns over the years. She started out working in accounting at Cypress Semiconductor while earning her Bachelor's in Psychology at San Jose State, then continued to work in high-tech finance at Echelon Corporation while contemplating a more long-term career focus. For a time, she explored a wide range of options; she worked in high-tech public relations, both agency and in-house, and as an independent contractor in various marketing and administration positions for several biotechnology companies. Having discovered her love of the nonprofit arena during a stint as a grant administrator in the Population Group at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, she finally found her niche, and has never looked back.
