Services

The core, year-round services provided by MCEC include psychological and educational assessments, tutoring, and group and individual psychotherapy, all of which are designed to teach students to access their learning strengths to compensate for areas of weakness. Many clients return over their academic lifespan, starting in early elementary school and returning for updated assessments and guidance in middle school, high school, college, and beyond. MCEC also provides free parent education classes and free topic-specific talks by staff to community and school groups. Hundreds of testimonials indicate that clients benefit significantly from MCEC's services throughout their lifetimes, often reporting notable success in school and/or their professional lives.

Skill-building groups are available for kids who struggle with issues such as making/ keeping friends, impulse control, anxiety, emotion regulation, and managing stress.

Morrissey-Compton provides consultations, evaluations, and advocacy for students with learning disabilities, and coaching for parents, to ensure that, as legally required, their school program includes appropriate special education services and accommodations, such as Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans.

Free parent education classes are offered in Redwood City or you can have one of our staff experts give an on-site talk to your school, business, or parent group on a variety of topics.
